O is for… Once Upon a Time
Once Upon a Time is a current series I am watching, at this very moment I have the second episode of season 2 on.
In the pilot a 28 year old woman – Emma Swan – is celebrating her birthday when she receives a surprise package – Henry, the 10 year old son she gave up for adoption. He shows her a fairytale book, says everything in it is real and that she is in it as the heroine. The modern day town he lives in is under a curse (her adopted mother is behind it), time stands still and all the characters we know and love don’t have a clue who they are.
Emma takes him back to Storybrooke and gets drawn in to Henry’s stories – is she destined to save everyone?
I love how this show combines the modern day stories with the fairytale ones and am interested to see the direction the show takes this year.
Top 3 Episodes so far
Red-Handed – Season 1 Episode 15
This episode revolves around Ruby, or as she was previously known Red-Riding Hood. I liked the new take on the tale.
Hat Trick Season 1 Episode 17
Emma is in trouble – the Mad Hatter – currently Jefferson has her trapped in his mad house.
Dreamy – Season 1 Episode 14
Leroy – ex Grumpy dwarf and Astrid – ex clumsy fairy Nova share a romance in both realms.
Which door would this fairytale open to for you?

I’ve seen previews for the show, but I’ve never actually watched an episode. I hadn’t realized that it combined modern day and fairytale worlds–will have to give it a shot.
Yes, I think the combination is the strength of the show for certain. Let me know what you think.
