World Book Night 2011 (a giveaway)
Well, it’s World Book Night 2011 and I have been spending the day so far logging numbers for the books I am to giveaway on http://www.bookcrossing.com and writing the numbers in the back of the books. Now I am hoping my printer actually works so I can print off the letter to go with them and then comes the delivering.
You can find out more about my plans here https://kirstyes.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/sh-wbn2011.jpgreading/wbn2011/
The book in question is Seamus Heaney’s New Selected Poems 1966 – 1987 and I have decided to give two away via this blog.
All you have to do to get a copy is to post a pick me comment (click on the little pin board to the right of the blog post title) telling me:
Why you would like to receive a copy and what you plan to do with it once you’ve read the wonderful poems it contains.
This giveaway will close one week from World Book Night ( on Sat 12th March 2011, 5pm) and I will select the two winners and contact them to make arrangements for sending the books.
Good Luck
Kirsty
My New Year’s Resolutions 2011
My New Year’s Resolutions 2011
Hi Kirsty Stanley here now.
I hope you enjoyed the brief interludes from Jane and Gabrielle, two of the characters from my 2010 NaNoWriMo novel Training Time.
1) My main resolution this year is about adding to the 50,000 words I got written in November and editing what I end up with.
2) My next resolution is to crack on with my PhD.
3) To get back to Body Combat – it is a good stress reliever that I feel in need of and will hopefully help with:
4) Losing more weight so that I have more energy and so that I can buy some more clothes (still in a bit of an inbetween sizes stage).
5) Noticing things and being a bit more mindful – see earlier post about January’s ‘a river of stones’ challenge.
6) Make work more enjoyable and chill about it a little more (getting a bit more organised might help with this).
7) Major house and bedroom declutter.
8) Being a good bridesmaid for one of my besties – which includes organising a fantabulous Hen Do.
9) Getting a little bit of culture (including hopefully a trip to the ballet)
10) I think that is quite enough to be getting one with. I hope you’ve noticed that apart from the Jan Challenge I’ve put no specifics or timescales on these – that’s so I can’t be too hard on myself – after all I’ve got the whole year to get there.
Happy New Year 2011 to one and all – may it bring you what you need.
Kirsty
New Year’s Resolutions – Gabrielle Sanders
New Year’s Resolutions – Gabrielle Sanders
It’s the 1st January and we’re back at the Academy on the 6th. I’ve nearly got my assignment finished but my father made me have a break on Christmas Day and Boxing Day so I’m a little behind.
I hope this term is an improvement on the last one but somehow I doubt it, not with her still there.
I mean who does she think she is, waltzing in late on our first day, not having had to work for her place. Nepotism is still rife.
My resolutions for this year are:
- Graduate top of the class
- Talk to Kyle Carey
Now I’ve got to go get on with that ethics essay.
Gabrielle Sanders
(If you want to see me get what I deserve you’ll have to wait for Kirsty Stanley to get her act into gear and get Training Time: Book 1 of the Cop Across Time completed and edited)
