When I’ve stopped to be mindful today I’ve only had in mind that I have so much else to do.

I pause everything and listen to the hum and purr of static.
This is not silence, there is no way to turn off my mind.
It buzzes too.

The halos that light me home
blind me.
Their light is not natural.
