The Gradual Loss of Me at Every Day Poets

A slight twist on a vilanelle entitled The Gradual Loss of Me.
I wrote this as part of the Open University’s A363 Advanced Creative Writing course. It was inspired by the idea that as I wasn’t having much time to write I was losing myself. I found the form made this a far more depressing poem by cycling into a downward spiral. But don’t worry the character is fictional.

Overactive again
Well approx 8 weeks post radioactive iodine treatment and I’ve gone overactive again. Dr says I’m unlucky. Yup. Back on tablets but fingers crossed it settles down and still works.
